Knowledge exchange from Social Sciences, Humanities, and the Arts (SSHA) is a topic of growing relevance, Europe wide. The issue is, that even experienced Technology and Knowledge Transfer Officers are tapping into a new area of their profession. Patents do not play a meaningful role, transfer partners in many cases are not coming from business, but from the side of public institutions or NGOs. Technical innovations are quite seldom, but social innovation and social entrepreneurship do make their way into the spotlight. New methods and channels of knowledge transfer and exchange are calling for advanced practices and tools.
The question for TTOs and even SSHA academics is: Which capacities are necessary in order to make the best out of this situation? What do we have to know? How should we learn it? This SIG SSHA Meeting is about the „what to learn“ and „how to train TTOs/KTOs and even SSHA academics“ in order to enable them in a best possible manner for SSHA knowledge exchange. As in previous SIG SSHA topic related meetings (Brussels, Oxford, Amsterdam) we put together short inputs from experienced speakers, followed by interactive sessions. The planned topic-/speakers line up consists of: Digital Humanities (Eveline Wandl-Vogt, Austrian Academy of Science), Capacity Building Actions incl. Massive Open Online Courses (Nicol Keith, University of Glasgow), Teaching and Training Contents (Mark Mann, Oxford University Innovation) and New Formats and Tools of Knowledge Exchange (Georg Russegger, Academy of Fine Arts Vienna). The workshop will be facilitated by Christoph Koeller (G&K/SIG SSHA).
The ASTP SIG SSHA meeting will be hosted by the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, in the course of the Austrian Knowledge Transfer Center. It is free of charge and the registration will be open till 25th of November.
